SODIUM CHLORIDE is used in several pharmaceutical formulations including nasal spray, nebulizer solution, ophthalmic ointment and eye drop, nasal gel and wash, topical irrigation solution and intravenous injection solution. Sodium chloride solution is used to maintain blood pressure and intravenous solution is used as replacement fluids for patients who cannot drink enough fluids. Hypetonic solution is used in case of sodium and chloride depletion.
