XYLAZINE BASE is a clonidine analogue and an adrenergic receptor agonist which is used to produce sedation, muscle relaxation, analgesia and anesthesia in horses, cattle and in other animals. It is also used as an emetic. It is used to treat tetanus and gives its anesthetic activity usually along with ketamine.
