CALCIUM IODATE is widely used in veterinary field. It is used as a supplement of iodine in cattle and chicken feed. It acts as an antioxidant which led its use in lotions, ointments where it works by imparting antiseptic and deodorant properties. In food industry, it is used as dough conditioner. In pharmaceuticals, it is also used in bulk drug intermediate synthesis. It blocks the uptake of radioiodine by the thyroid gland.
