Closantel is an endectocide which only has a narrow spectrum that exhibits ectoparasiticide, anthelmintic and endoparasiticide activity in veterinary parasites. It mainly controlled flukes of liver and gastrointestinal roundworms. Efficacy depends on the form and the dose administered. Moreover, it has residual effect which protects the host by killing present parasites as well as preventing re-infestation for a time period.
