METHAMIZOLE is mainly used to treat hyperthyroidism. It gives its action by inhibiting the thyroid gland to produce excess thyroid hormone. It is also used to reduce the hyperthyroidism symptoms in thyroid gland removal preparation or inactivating thyroid gland with radioactive iodine.
