SUCROSE is used for its sweetness. It is used in many pharmaceutical dosage forms like in tablets, lozenges, syrups, gums and is also used in many beverages and foods like ice cream, candies, sorbet, cakes etc. It is used in veterinary medicine to treat acetonemia, acute urea toxicity in cattle.
