TRIMETHOPRIM is used in the treatment and management urinary tract infections caused by Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis, Enterobacter species and negative Staphylococcus species. It is also used in conjunction with dapsone to treat mild to moderate category pneumonia by Pneumocystis carinii. It is effective in the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections and venereal disease.
