L-METHIONINE is an amino acid which is used in making proteins and peptides. Some conditions like allergies, urinary tract infections and liver complaints require the body to use higher amounts of L-methionine. It is used as a nutritional supplement. Decreased level of L-methionine can exacerbate as well as cause depression. On the other hand, excess L-methionine can be used by the kidney to acidify urine and this in turn can optimize antibiotics effects and helps to prevent kidney stones formation.
