NALOXONE HCL BP is categorized as narcotic antagonist that works to inhibit the effect of narcotics on CNS. It acts on partial as well as complete narcotic depression reversal involving respiratory depression induced by opioids like methadone, propoxyphene and also narcotic analgesic antagonist like butorphanol, nalbuphine, butorphanol and pentazocine. It is also used as an adjunct in the management of septic shock.
