IVERMECTIN is categorized as anthelmintic. It is effective against strongyloidiasis caused by a roundworm and is also used for controlling onchocerciasis which can cause rash, blindness and bumps under skin. It works against onchocerciasis by killing worms of developing stage but it cannot kill adult worms causing onchocerciasis and as a result this medication will not be able to cure infection of this type.
