Aloe Vera has high amount of vitamin A, E and C which make it a potential antioxidant that neutralizes or scavenges free radicals which in turn gives anti-aging effect. It has an enzyme naming bradykinase which helps to alleviate inflammation when applied topically. It also has anti allergic and moisturizing properties. It contains two anthraquinones- aloin, emodins; which give analgesic action as well as act as antibacterials, antivirals. It is also a good source of amino acids containing 20 of the human needed 22 amino acids. Moreover, its wound healing property has led its use in many oral and topical formulations.
